BUS2TALK: FROM STARTUP TO BUS OEM IN 3 YEARS WITH ARTHUR BUS
Philipp Glonner wishes more people would give themselves the chance to experience something new. ”If we can manage to be more open to new ideas and solutions we’ll stop standing in our own way. Discussions will no longer be politically charged and people will accept things based on established reference points and because they have been tried out“, says the engineer, CEO and co-founder of ARTHUR BUS.
In 2021 Philipp Glonner co-founded ARTHUR BUS. With its fuel cell buses the company aims to set new standards in alternative drives. ARTHUR BUS has set itself the target of achieving zero-emissions mobility along the entire value chain. In the podcast studio at BUS2BUS 2024 Philipp Glonner reveals why he went to a number of countries to get tips for a new vehicle design, why he would rather listen to customers than tell them what they need, and why he dismisses the loan options German banks are currently offering startups.
Glonner wants easier access to funding, charges for CO2 emissions, and respect from the market for his company. He also presents his ideas for better risk-sharing between OEMs, infrastructure providers and other bus industry players, and for more planning certainty and scalability.
A note for all non German-speaking listeners: this episode is only available in German.
