BUS2TALK: INSIGHTS FROM JBM, INDIA’S LEADING BUS MANUFACTURER

JBM is India’s largest bus manufacturer. The company’s portfolio covers everything from battery production to bus operations, with activities in 37 countries. At BUS2BUS 2024 JBM displayed its first electric coach.

In the podcast studio at BUS2BUS, JBM’s vice-chairman Nishant Arya, listed in 2023 by the Economic Times as one of the 40 brightest young business leaders under 40, talked about how working in various countries and with multicultural teams influences perceptions of mobility, and the impact of constantly taking on new markets on the company’s development and its ability to adapt.

He also talks about why public transport should above all be comfortable and convenient: ”Most people around the world use public transport out of necessity, not because they want to. We need to address the issue of how to make public transport their first choice“, he says.
