BUS2Talk: Smart traveling - New digital pathways to nature with connected mobility
Guest: Hermann Weiß
A variety of interesting nature trips can be found in the local area, from hiking to biking, water sports and cultural experiences. We talk with Hermann Weiß from NaturTrip to learn how easy it is to plan a day trip in the surrounding region, what advantages this has for our environment, and what role networked mobility plays.
How does it work? Travel on urban and regional transit systems is comfortable and convenient. Destinations are easy to access with few transfers and a short last mile. Networked systems digitally link timetable data with tourist packages. Getting to your destination and back again without a car is also sustainable.
We ask Hermann Weiß what's behind the concept and learn that it's all quite simple when "... different modes of transport are intelligently linked together."
This approach envisions several interesting business approaches for bus companies. Cross-regional cooperation between transit systems and tourism associations enable them to flexibly expand their portfolio with user-friendly and environmentally compatible services including, for example, a pop-up line for passengers.
Sounds simple. Check out the podcast and get back to nature!
