BUS2TALK: THE MOTORWAYS OF THE FUTURE WITH AUTOBAHN GMBH

1,000 fast charging points are planned for Germany by 2026. 900 are to be built close to urban motorways and 200 located directly on the autobahn network. ”That is quite feasible and is already under way”, says Derya Guran, head of Innovation at Autobahn GmbH des Bundes.

In the podcast studio at BUS2BUS Derya Guran talked to Totinia Hörner and Kerstin Kube-Erkens about providing electromobility at motorway services, installing photovoltaic arrays, monitoring motorway bridges and expanding the 5G network. ”We need to learn that motorways are more than an infrastructure. They provide mobility as well“, says Guran.

She stresses the importance of dialogue to better understand individual actors’ needs, requirements and constraints, and to make better use of the opportunities a circular economy offers. ”We must take bolder steps to engage with partners who already have a vision in certain areas. Together with policymakers we must make the effort for specific investments“, says Derya Guran.

To discover why she enjoys working with startups so much, get the latest on the progress of two pilot projects (Ostseeblick near Heiligenhafen and Kohlsberg-Nord), and to find out what the number 13 has to do with it all, listen in to the current episode of BUS2Talk.
