BUS2Spotlights: Low-barrier and low-emission transport
Anyone who wants to take a look at the exhibitors' innovations in the run-up to this year's BUS2BUS, which will take place on 24 and 25 April in Berlin, should take a look at the BUS2Spotlights. In addition to new vehicles, services and components will be presented. This will give trade visitors and representatives of the press an overview of the latest innovations in advance.
More comfort, fewer emissions
The ongoing electrification, particularly in local public transport, is reflected in the BUS2Spotlights. The majority of the new bus models on show at the Berlin exhibition centre have an electric or hybrid drive. Dutch bus manufacturer Ebusco is focussing on lightweight construction with the Ebusco 3.0, using composite materials to save weight in the main structure. The lightweight bus not only has efficient energy consumption, but also an extended service life of up to 25 years. Tremonia Mobility presents the City 75 ELECTRIC, an 8.5-metre-long low-floor minibus with space for around 30 passengers. This is an electrified version of the tried-and-tested Sprinter City 75, and Tremonia Mobility's smaller city bus model, the City 45 ELECTRIC, which is already in series production, will be presented in the outdoor area in front of the Hub27 gates. How flexible the MCV C127 EV from MCV Deutschland can be designed is demonstrated by two different passenger compartment solutions for the two-door version of the 12-metre vehicle. The ARTHUR ZERO hydrogen bus from ARTHUR BUS is powered by hydrogen. Other buses come from companies such as MAN Truck & Bus and Daimler Buses.
Fast and safe charging
Visitors to BUS2BUS will also find the necessary charging infrastructure for electric and hydrogen buses at the trade show. Mer Germany will be presenting its solutions in the field of business charging. The US startup WideSense helps to create charging plans using AI. The fast charging stations from Ekoenergetyka-Polska also ensure smooth operation. Service providers such as Jebsen & Jessen and eMis Management also provide vehicles and charging infrastructure for hire. PRF offers the right infrastructure for hydrogen vehicles. Solar energy can be utilised in buses thanks to a solar kit from Sono Motors. Neste is also presenting MY Renewable Diesel™ (HVO100), a fuel that can be used to quickly reduce CO2 emissions.
Travelling inclusively
Many people with disabilities are dependent on public transport. With the Independent Travelling and Orientation System (INTROS), SYSTEMTECHNIK, in cooperation with Trapeze-Elgeba, has created a service that promotes the inclusion of blind and visually impaired people on public transport. Thanks to real-time communication, users can use the app to inform the driver of a stop request or signal if they need more time to get on and off the bus. Acoustic signals on the vehicle simplify the process. The P105L and P167L push buttons from Prima Industries are available in a fully accessible version. Not only is the button illuminated, it also buzzes and vibrates when the passenger presses it. In this way, people with visual impairments, for example, can be reassured that the bus will stop at the next stop. For those who are no longer able to actually travel for health reasons, vJourney offers immersive bus travel experiences via VR glasses.
