Live networking on and around the Deep Dive Stage
Anna Filby recently took a three-month camper van tour of Australia and New Zealand. “It’s the kind of trip that makes me look at the wider picture and get to know new people – and I also see that in our Young Mobility Network“, she said on Wednesday on the Deep Dive Stage at BUS2BUS.
This is the first time the Young Mobility Network is at BUS2BUS. Anna Filby, Kolja Schwenson and Matthias Carl Lauer set up the network in 2020, which now has more than 300 members and is represented in Berlin, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Munich and the Rheinland region.
Strangers get to know each other
Gaining a new perspective, participating in a dialogue and reflecting each other’s views are core elements of the Young Mobility Network, where according to Anna Filby “young“ is a key part of the mindset. “We have no age restrictions“, says Filby, who has a full-time job as an international sales manager with ioki. She and her colleagues run the Young Mobility Network on a voluntary basis. Anna Filby and Max Beitler, event and partnership managers with the Young Mobility Network, underlined their commitment to networking by inviting the audience to strike up a two-minute conversation with the person next to them at their lecture. One member of the audience stood up directly and left, while the others turned to each other. Seconds later, the atmosphere changed and strangers got to know each other.
I found out from Dr.-Ing. Ines Kawgan-Kagan, a gender and diversity expert in the field of mobility, transport and public spaces, that she often receives positive feedback when she talks about focusing on women’s demands in the mobility sector, but that unfortunately this still happens too seldom. The two minutes talking to her went by in a flash. The same happened with Sophie Brunner from Dödlinger Touristik, whom I met at the second speed dating session. “I think it is great to also meet young people at a show like this“, she said.
Women in Mobility discuss sustainability
The dialogue extends beyond the actual panel. Next to the stage there are also formats and members of the Young Mobility Network. Max Beitler invited all participants to come whenever they like to the lounge area beside the stage (hub27/309) which the Young Mobility Network shares with Women in Mobility. On Thursday at 12.30 p.m., Women in Mobility will hold their own panel on the Deep Dive Stage and discuss sustainability, reuse and special use concepts. Afterwards, anyone interested in talking to the network members is cordially invited to do so from 2 p.m.
And once they are already there, they can visit the Startup Area next door, where as well as meeting interesting people they can relax on comfortable seats and enjoy coffee and waffles.
